ELECTION DAY IS NOV 8

EARLY VotING OPENS FRI, SEPT 23rd

Voting in Minnesota opens in September and there are multiple ways to cast your ballot, listed below. The best way to start is by confirming that you are registered to vote at your current address. You will need to re-register if you have moved or changed you name since the last time you voted. You can also register for the first time at the link below.

REQUEST YOUR MAIL IN BALLOT BEFORE OCT 14

Avoid lines on Election Day by requesting your ballot by mail. To account for wait times, we recommend requesting your ballot 2.5 weeks before Election Day. You will receive your ballot at home, where you can vote in the privacy of your own home.

Once complete, you have multiple options for returning your ballot:

  • Return your ballot by mail by dropping it at a Post Office or in a mailbox (we suggest having it in the mail by Oct 28).
  • Return your ballot in person to the Ramsey County Elections office, 90 W Plato Blvd Ste 160, St Paul, MN 55107
  • Minnesota may hold in-person drive through ballot return options, this page will be updated when more information is available
  • Important: You may NOT return your ballot to your polling place on Election Day, it must be returned to an official election office

VOTE EARLY IN PERSON

Voting early in person is a great way to get your vote in early! If you’d like to vote in person, you can vote early at one of the designated Ramsey County Voting Centers. Click below to find available early voting centers and hours of operation.

HOW TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY, Nov 8, IN PERSON

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov 3. Polling places in Ramsey County are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. If you are in line by 8 p.m., you have the right to stay and vote.

Due to COVID-19, we expect social distancing measures to be in effect. This may cause delays and longer voting times — please plan extra time if you will be voting in person, and take precautions to protect yourself and others including wearing a mask.

KNOW YOUR VOTING RIGHTS

Before heading to the polls, know your voting rights. According to Minnesota state law, you have the following rights when voting:
